Whence Came You….. the Journey from DeMolay to Masonry

In DeMolay, a young man learns timeless values instilled in our seven cardinal virtues, our respect for God, for our Country, and for our parents. A young man also makes lifelong friends locally and across our great state.  Many of these young men have had such a great experience in DeMolay that when they turn 18, they seek a way to continue that experience by joining the Masonic fraternity.  Recently, we sat down with a number of Senior DeMolays and we asked them about their experience in becoming a member of the world’s oldest, largest fraternal society.

If you are interested in continuing your journey please visit https://www.discovermasonry.com/ .  Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Scottish Rite, any DeMolay or Senior DeMolay who joins a lodge is able to have his initiation fee refunded. You may find the form here.

If you are already a Master Mason there are a number of appendant bodies that you can seek to join to continue the journey.

The Scottish Rite:  32° Scottish Rite Masonry expands upon the fundamental principles of Freemasonry, exploring Masonic teachings more deeply. Building upon the ethical and philosophical teachings of the blue lodge, 32° Scottish Rite Freemasonry reveals a wealth of knowledge about Masonry not found in the other degrees. It seeks to enrich the philosophy of the Symbolic Lodge in order to help good men become even better. A member of 32° Scottish Rite Freemasonry seeks to: Aid mankind’s search for identity and destiny in God’s universe Produce wiser men in a wiser world, happier men in a happier world, and therefore better men in a better world Promote the dignity of every person and the humanity in all activities

The York Rite: The York Rite consists of three Masonic bodies: Royal Arch, Cryptic Council, and Commandary of Knights Templar. These bodies build upon the story and lessons of the Craft Degrees, or the first three degrees conferred in a Blue Lodge. Each group meets on their own night and has a distinct group of officers and degrees. Masons begin their journey in the Royal Arch but may choose to continue into the Cryptic Council and the Commandery.
