New York DeMolay
“Dad” Frank S. Land Service Challenge
Since 1919, DeMolays have served their schools and communities. In November, New York DeMolay is hosting a Service Challenge. Think of this as a “choose your own adventure” for service projects. You can select from one of several different options! #DeMolayServes
1. Walk for Shriners Hospitals: Between October 25 and November 2, 2020 dress up in costume and go walk for Shriners’ Hospitals. You can sign up here at no charge. https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/team/315569
New York DeMolay is doing prizes for best costumes, take a picture of yourself walking in a costume!
2. Neighborhood Cleanup: Between November 1st and November 30th do a cleanup of your community, your neighborhood or your park. Prizes for the most amount of trash and litter picked up!
3. Food Drive: Between November 1 and November 30th do a canned food drive for your local food bank. Need help finding one? Visit https://www.feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank
4. Do a DeMolay Christmas Ornament! Make an ornament to give to a Masonic Care Community resident. You can easily find ornament kits at Michaels, MJ Designs or your local fabric store!
5. Donate Socks! You often don’t think of it, but socks are one of the most important articles of clothing. Socks prevent frostbite, a variety of different feet issues, and a nerve issue called polyneuropathy among others. DeMolays are encouraged to donate NEW and UNOPENED socks to local shelters in their communities. Need help finding a shelter? Let us know!
6. Design Your Own Service Project! You know your community best. Come up with an idea for a project that you can do!
Every DeMolay, Squire, Sweetheart and Registered Adult Volunteer that participates will receive a “DeMolay Serves” Tee shirt!
